Hip Pain Treatment in Noblesville

Getting out of the car shouldn’t take a plan. But when your hip is stiff or sore, simple things like climbing stairs, rolling over in bed, or walking across a parking lot can start to feel like chores.

Hip Pain Can Have Several Sources

Your hip is a big, weight-bearing ball-and-socket joint, and it never works alone. Every time you stand, walk, or bend, it moves together with your pelvis and lower spine.

So the pain you feel doesn’t always come from the joint itself. Pain around the hip may come from the joint, nearby muscles or tendons, or sometimes the lower back. An assessment helps distinguish these possibilities.

Everyday Strain That Adds Up Over Time

Hip discomfort usually has more than one source. Common contributors include:

  • Joint wear, arthritis, or irritation
  • Tight or weak muscles around the hip and buttock
  • Restricted movement in the lower back or pelvis
  • Old injuries that changed the way you walk
  • Long hours of sitting or repetitive sports movements

When One Side Stops Moving Like the Other

You might notice one leg won’t swing as freely, or that pulling your knee toward your chest feels blocked.

Stiffness after sitting is common, along with an ache in the groin, outer hip, or buttock. Some people catch themselves leaning to one side or shortening their stride without meaning to.

Don’t Just Live with a Limp

A little soreness after a hard workout usually settles with rest. If the ache hangs around for weeks, keeps returning, or is changing how you walk or sleep, it’s time for a closer look.

Get medical care right away after a fall or major injury, if you can’t put weight on the leg, or if pain comes with fever, heavy swelling, sudden severe hip pain without an injury, or new numbness.

Checking Your Back, Pelvis, and Hips Together

Your first visit with Noblesville Chiropractor Dr. Pamela Grant includes time to discuss your symptoms and assess your movement. She takes time to listen, then checks how your hips rotate, how your pelvis and lower back move, and how you walk and stand. On-site X-rays are available if they’ll help.

If chiropractic is a good fit, Dr. Grant will explain what she found and how she’d approach it. Care may include gentle adjustments to the spine and pelvis, soft-tissue therapies, kinesio-taping, and traction. And if something points to a problem outside her scope, she’ll say so and refer you.
